Mochi disease - Mochi disease
This disease is caused by fungi of the genus Polytrichum, a basidiomycete fungus, and affects plants of the Ericaceae family, such as azalea and rhododendron, and plants of the Theaceae family, such as tea, camellia, and sasanqua. The leaves become abnormally swollen, and white fungal colonies appear on the surface, making them look like rice cakes. It is a serious disease in tea.
