Born on March 15, 1857. Studied at the Engineering Dormitory, then worked at the Ministry of Public Works before joining Tanaka Seisakusho (later Shibaura Seisakusho). In 1889 he traveled to the United States and trained in the manufacture of telephone sets and telephone exchanges. In 1891 he launched Japan's first electrical magazine, "Denki no Tomo." Died on December 1, 1940, aged 84. Born in Miharu, Mutsu (Fukushima Prefecture). His works include "The History of the Development of the Electric Industry in Japan."
