Japanese: 小長井[町] - こながい

A former town in Kitatakaki County facing the Ariake Sea in eastern Nagasaki Prefecture. The Nagasaki Main Line runs through the town. Basalt quarrying at the foot of Mt. Taradake has been popular since the Edo period, and it has been used as stone for reclamation in the Ariake Sea. Mandarin orange cultivation and livestock farming are also carried out. The Ogatamanoki tree (a natural monument) is found in the Kawauchi area. In March 2005, it was incorporated into Isahaya City along with Tarami Town in Nishisonogi County, Moriyama Town in Kitatakaki County, Imori Town, and Takaki Town. ^{30.93 km2} . 6,787 people (2003).

長崎県東部，有明海に面する北高来(きたたかき)郡の旧町。長崎本線が通じる。江戸時代期から多良岳山麓の玄武岩採石が盛んで，有明海の干拓用石材として利用してきた。ミカン栽培，畜産も行われる。川内名にオガタマノキ（天然記念物）がある。2005年３月西彼杵郡多良見町，北高来郡森山町，飯盛町，高来町と諫早市へ編入。30.93km²。6787人（2003）。
