A book on Chinese historiography theory. Also known as Shitong. Written by Zhang Xuecheng of the Qing dynasty. Five volumes for the inner volume and three for the outer volume. Published in Daoguang 12 (1832). Since it looked at the Six Classics from the perspective of history, and took a completely different approach to traditional methods of studying classics and history, it received almost no attention when it was first published, but it began to attract attention towards the end of the Qing dynasty.
