〘Noun〙 A Buddhist term. One of the four kalpas of creation , existence, destruction , and emptiness that are related to the origin and destruction of the world. It is said that after the world is destroyed and everything continues in a state of emptiness for a long time, when this ends, it will enter the kalpa of creation again and the world will be created. ※Shobogenzo ( 1231-53) Sansuikyo "Because it is a message from before the end of the kalpa of emptiness, it is the plan of the present." 〘名〙 仏語。世界の起滅にかかわる、成(じょう)・住(じゅう)・壊(え)・空の四劫(しこう)の一つ。世界が破滅して、一切が空無の状態のまま続く長い時間で、これが終わると、また成劫(じょうごう)に入り、世界ができあがる、とする。※正法眼蔵（1231‐53）山水経「空劫已前の消息なるがゆへに、而今の活計なり」
