Japanese: 空劫 - くうごう

〘Noun〙 A Buddhist term. One of the four kalpas of creation , existence, destruction , and emptiness that are related to the origin and destruction of the world. It is said that after the world is destroyed and everything continues in a state of emptiness for a long time, when this ends, it will enter the kalpa of creation again and the world will be created. ※Shobogenzo ( 1231-53) Sansuikyo "Because it is a message from before the end of the kalpa of emptiness, it is the plan of the present."
