Shouni Kagesuke

A military commander in the mid-Kamakura period. Son of Sukeyoshi. Known as Saburozaemon, Buzen no Kami, and later as Moriuji. At the time of the Mongol invasion in 1274, he was only 29 years old, but led over 500 troops and fought bravely as a samurai commander at Ikihama in Hakata. In the Mongol Invasion Illustrated Scroll, he appears as the "Tsuki no Taishou." He is also known to have documented the Battle of Takashima during the Mongol invasion in 1281. In 1285, in response to Adachi Morimune, he raised an army at Iwato Castle in Chikuzen Province (Fukuoka Prefecture) against his brother Tsunesuke, but was executed and committed suicide. 鎌倉中期の武将。資能の子。三郎左衛門,豊前守,のちに盛氏と改める。文永11(1274)年のモンゴル襲来のときは,29歳であったが,五百余騎を率いて博多息浜で侍大将として奮戦した。『蒙古襲来絵詞』には「月のたいしやう」とみえる。弘安4(1281)年のモンゴル襲来のときも,鷹島の合戦の検知をしていることが知られる。8年安達盛宗に呼応して,兄経資に対して筑前国(福岡県)岩門城で挙兵したが,誅伐され自害した。景資の所領筑前国志登社地頭職は没収され,詫磨時秀に給付されている。<参考文献>『蒙古襲来絵詞』,川添昭二『九州中世史の研究』
