Agfacolor

Japanese: Agfacolor
Agfacolor

...Color expression also developed in the UK during and after World War II, with Technicolor films such as Henry V (1945) and Stairway to Heaven (1946). In addition to Technicolor, various color systems were developed in various countries from the 1930s to the 1940s, including Eastman Color in the United States, Agfacolor in Germany, Ferraniacolor in Italy, and Gevacolor in Belgium and France. Agfacolor was seized by the Soviet Union in 1945 after Germany's defeat, and the improved Sovcolor was used to produce films such as The Stone Flower (1945), Ivan the Terrible, Part 2 (1946, released in 1958), Siberian Tale (1947), and The Little Humpbacked Horse (1948). As technology for color reproduction improved, color, which had long been a novelty or a way for films to attract audiences, began to be treated as an important element of artistic expression. After World War II, films such as Black Daffodil (1947) and The Red Shoes (1948) directed by M. Powell and E. Pressburger, The Mills of Sin (1952) directed by John Huston, Gate of Hell (1954) directed by Teinosuke Kinugasa, The Leopard (1963) directed by Luchino Visconti, and Red Desert (1964) directed by Michelangelo Antonioni, as well as other films that showed the tones and color effects of various color systems from various countries, as well as the unique color expressions and styles of artists.
