Spring God - Shunshin-kun

Prime minister of Chu in the late Warring States period in China. He is famous for forming an army with Lord Pingyuan of Zhao and Lord Xinling of Wei to oppose Qin (257 BC). Together with Lord Mengchang of Qi, they are known as the Four Lords of the Warring States. His surname was Huang and his given name was Xie. When the crown prince of King Xiang (reigned 296-261 BC) of Chu became a hostage of Qin, he accompanied him to Qin and returned to become the Prime Minister of Chu. When King Xiang fell ill, he sent the crown prince back to Qin and had him enthroned as King Kao Lie (reigned 261-237 BC). In an attack from 279 to 278 BC, Chu lost Hubei and Hunan to Qin, and moved its capital eastward. However, when Chun Shen Jun became prime minister, he was given control of the territory north of the Huai River. In 250 BC, he was given control of the headquarters of Jiangsu (Jiangdong, Wu) of Yue, which had been destroyed by King Xiang before 279 BC, and sent his son to govern it. It is said that he gathered 3,000 guests, including Xunzi. When King Kao Lie died, he was killed along with his entire family by the powerful minister Li Yuan.

中国、戦国時代後期の楚(そ)の宰相。趙(ちょう)の平原君(へいげんくん)、魏(ぎ)の信陵君(しんりょうくん)とともに合従の軍を成立させて秦(しん)に対抗した（前257）ことで有名。これらに斉(せい)の孟嘗君(もうしょうくん)を加えて戦国四君と称される。氏は黄、名は歇(あつ、けつ)。楚の頃襄王(けいじょうおう)（在位前296～261）の太子が秦の質となったのに付き従って秦に赴き、帰国して楚の相となった。頃襄王が病に侵されるや秦にはかって太子を帰国させ、考烈王（在位前261～237）として即位させた。楚は前279～278年の攻撃で秦に湖北、湖南を奪われ、以後東に都を移していたが、春申君は宰相となるや淮水(わいすい)の北の領地を任された。前279年以前に頃襄王が滅ぼした越(えつ)の江蘇(こうそ)の本拠（江東、呉）を、前250年に任され、子を派遣して統治させた。食客3000人を集めたといわれ、そのなかには荀子(じゅんし)もいた。考烈王が死去すると、権臣李園(りえん)のために一族もろとも殺害された。
