Albinoni - Arubinoni (English spelling) Tomaso Albinoni

Italian composer of the High Baroque. Born as the eldest son of a wealthy Venetian paper merchant, he is believed to have studied under Legrenzi. After his father's death (1709), he left the family business to his brothers and devoted himself to music. His career reached its peak around 1722, when his famous collection of 12 concertos (Op. 9) was published in Amsterdam, and his operas were performed abroad, including in Munich. He was active in Venice at roughly the same time as Vivaldi, and died there. He was characterized by a refined musicality that embodied his good upbringing, and natural melodic beauty. In addition to instrumental pieces such as the Oboe Concerto and Adagio for Organ and Strings, he also wrote 55 operas.

イタリア盛期バロックの作曲家。ベネチアの裕福な紙商人の長男として生まれ、レグレンツィに師事したと推定される。父の死（1709）後、家業を弟たちに任せ、音楽に専心する。12曲からなる有名な協奏曲集（作品9）がアムステルダムから出版された1722年ごろ活動は頂点に達し、彼のオペラはミュンヘンなど国外でも上演された。ビバルディとほぼ同時代にベネチアで活躍、同地で没した。育ちのよさを具現する上品な音楽性と、天性の旋律美を特徴とする。オーボエ協奏曲、オルガンと弦のためのアダージョなどの器楽曲と並び、55曲のオペラも書いている。
