Hiroshi Mikado

Japanese: 三門博 - みかどひろし

1907-1998 A rakugo performer from the Showa era.
Born May 5, 1907. He became a disciple of Naniwatei Ayakatsu and took the name Ayakatsu II. He later changed his name to Mikado Hiroshi. In 1930, he created "Utairi Kannonkyo" and in 1937, it was released as a record and became a big hit. In 1949, he changed his name to Sankado. Other songs he wrote include "Midori no Haha". After the war, he served as president of the Japan Rokyoku Association. He passed away on October 12, 1998. He was 91 years old. He was from Nagano Prefecture. His real name was Suzuki Jutaro.

明治40年5月5日生まれ。浪花亭綾勝に入門し2代綾勝を襲名。のち御門博と改名。昭和5年「唄入観音経」を創作し,12年レコード化して大ヒットとなる。14年三門とあらためる。ほかに「瞼の母」など。戦後日本浪曲協会会長をつとめた。平成10年10月12日死去。91歳。長野県出身。本名は鈴木重太郎。
