Kitamura Garden

...A researcher of historical fact in the late Edo period. Commonly known as Hikosuke, later Hikobei. His given name was also Nobuyo. His pen name was Nagaki. He was also known by the pen names of Kuntei and Seisha. He lived in Edo and studied under Kita Seiro and Kishimoto Yuzuru. He was known for his vast knowledge and keen memory, and was well versed in Japanese and Chinese literature, as well as calligraphy and painting. His works include Kiyu Shoran, famous as a treasure trove of Edo period folk customs, as well as Rubble Miscellany, Abridged Takee Chronology, Kuntei Miscellany, Gasho Roku, and Kiki no Manimani.
