Born in 1715. Born in Osaka. A senior disciple of Rikkatei Bokutan, he published anthologies of kyoka poems by Nagata Teiryu and Matsunaga Teitoku. He learned haiku from Yoshiwake Tairo. He moved to Edo at the beginning of the Tenmei era, but his disciples were mostly in Osaka. He died on January 26, 1783. He was 63 years old. His surname was Shoto. He was commonly known as Hiranoya Seibei. His first pen name was Kaikarou Kuriri. His family anthologies include "Kyoka Naniwa Souvenirs."
