Born on January 1, 1906. Participated in the Suiheisha Movement at the end of the Taisho period. Joined the army in 1927, and was arrested for directly appealing to the emperor at a military review to abolish discrimination within the military. In 1941, he became Secretary General of the National Committee for Buraku Liberation (later the Buraku Liberation League). In 1975, he founded the National Conference on Buraku Issues Aiming for National Integration, and served as its representative director. Died on January 3, 1981, at the age of 75.
