Song Da (River) (English spelling)

Japanese: ソンダー[川]（英語表記）Song Da

A river in northern Vietnam. It is about 800 km long. In Vietnamese, it means "black river". It originates in the northern gorge of the Ailao Mountains and the Murai Mountains in central Yunnan Province, China. It was originally called the Amojiang River and then the Li Xian River, and when it entered Vietnam, it became the Son Da River. At Lai Chau, it joins the Na River (known as the Tianjiao River in China), which also flows south, and like the Song Khoi River, it flows along the syncline axis of the mountain folds in this region, forming a gorge from northwest to southeast. After passing through Ban Pho and Ban Yen, it turns north at Hoa Binh and enters the Tonkin Plain, and joins the Song Khoi River near Biec, about 60 km northwest of Hanoi.

ベトナム北部の川。長さ約800km。ベトナム語で〈黒色の川〉の意。中国の雲南省中部，哀牢山系と無量山系の北部峡谷に発源，はじめは阿墨江，次いで李仙江とよばれ，ベトナム領内に入ってソンダー川となる。ライチャウで同じく南流してきたナー川(中国領内では藤条江)を合わせ，ソンコイ川と同じくこの地方の山地の褶曲の向斜軸に沿い，北西から南東に峡谷をつくって流れる。バンポー，バンイェンを過ぎ，ホアビンで北にコースを転じてトンキン平野に入り，ハノイの北西約60kmのビエッチ付近でソンコイ川に合流する。
