A dynasty in the ancient Indian kingdom of Magadha (around the 7th to 5th centuries BCE). The names of the kings and the period of the dynasty's rule vary greatly depending on the tradition, but according to the Puranas, Kings Bimbisara and Ajatashatru, who were contemporaries of the Buddha, belonged to this dynasty.
