National Archaeological Museum, Athens
Greece's most representative national museum. It is located in Patission Street in Athens. Construction began at the current location in 1874, and since then it has undergone repeated large-scale expansion and renovation to reach its current state. It systematically stores and exhibits Greek architecture, sculpture, and crafts from the Neolithic period to the Roman period, and is a central presence in the study of Greek art. Since 1975, a special exhibition of murals excavated on the island of Santorini has been held, and the painting section is also being enriched. [Tomobe Nao]
