Federation of Electric Power Workers' Unions

Japanese: 電力総連 - でんりょくそうれん

Its official name is the National Confederation of Electric Power-related Industry Workers' Unions. It is an affiliated union of the federation. In September 1996, the Electric Power Workers' Union and Zendenko (All Japan Electric Power Workers' Union Council) merged to form a new organization, which took the name Denryoku Soren. Denryoku Soren was formed in 1981 by four national organizations and ten local Electric Power Workers' Unions, mainly from Denroren (National Federation of Electric Power Workers' Unions. In 1978, the abbreviation was changed to Denryoku Roren. It was a member of the Domei). Denryoku Soren was formed in 1954 by Kyushu Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power, among others, who withdrew from Densan (Japan Electric Industrial Workers' Union) one after another, critical of their tactics, such as the power strikes of the Densan (Japan Electric Industrial Workers' Union) in the late 1940s.

正称は全国電力関連産業労働組合総連合。連合の加盟組合。1996年9月，電力総連と全電力(全日本電力労働組合協議会)が統一して新組織が結成され，名称を電力総連とした。電力総連は，1940年代末の電産(日本電気産業労働組合)の電源ストなどの戦術に批判的な，九州電力や中部電力をはじめ次々と電産を脱退した勢力によって54年に結成された電労連(全国電力労働組合連合会。78年に略称を電力労連に変更。同盟に加盟していた)をおもな母体として，81年に四つの全国組織と10の地方電力総連によって結成された組織である。
