A town in Koyu County in central Miyazaki Prefecture. A mountain village located northeast of Saito City along the Omaru River. 80% of the town area is made up of forests and wilderness. It is the location of the "Atarashikimura" village, which was built by Mushanokoji Saneatsu in 1918. Area: 145.96 km2 . Population: 5,177 (2010).
