Turtle Castle

A city in the middle of North Pyongan Province, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, located upstream of the Taecheon River, a tributary of the Cheongcheon River. It was known as a rice-growing and gold-producing region, but after liberation it became an industrial city with machine factories that produced mining equipment, lathes, presses, and spinning mills. It lies along the railway line connecting Jeongju and Cheongsu on the Yalu River.
