Karyobin

Japanese:
Karyobin

The name of a Gagaku piece. It is also called "Karyobinga" or "Fugonraku." It is a Gagaku piece from the Tang Dynasty, and includes both Bugaku and Kangen. It is one of the eight pieces of music from the Linyu School. The original is Ichikotsucho. There are two transposition pieces (a kind of transposition piece) in Sojo with Ha and Kyu, and in Oushikicho with Kyu, which are called Toriha and Kyu. The dance is Dobu, a dance for four children. Karyobinka has been seen in books since the Heian period as a sacred bird of paradise that sings a heavenly song, but in this piece, the bird flew from paradise on the day of the memorial service at Gion Shoja and danced, and Myoonten created a musical dance to convey to Ananda. The young dancers wear crowns decorated with red plum blossoms on their heads and colorful feathers on their backs that imitate birds, and dance while holding and beating copper clappers in both hands. This dance, along with the pair dance "Kocho," is loved for its lovely dancing form.
