The North Caucasus belongs to the Russian Federation and consists of the republics of Dagestan, North Ossetia, Kabardino-Balkaria, Chechnya, and Ingushetia, Rostov Oblast, Krasnodar Krai (including the Adygei Republic), and Stavropol Krai (including the Karachay-Cherkess Republic), while the Transcaucasia consists of the three republics of Armenia, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. …
