Intravitam staining

...the process of staining parts of living organisms to make it possible to distinguish properties or differences in properties that would be impossible to distinguish without staining. There are different methods depending on the type of biological specimen, particularly whether it is a multicellular or unicellular organism, and the level of observation (naked eye or microscope). Intravitam staining is the process of injecting a dye solution into the body of a multicellular organism or allowing it to be absorbed through the digestive tract or roots, and is suitable for observation with the naked eye or by sectioning after staining. For example, in mammals, macrophages are selectively stained with trypan blue.
