Ogura Seizaburou - Ogura Seizaburou
1882-1941 A sexologist and philosopher from the Taisho to early Showa periods.
Born February 28, 1882. Inspired by the works of H. Ellis, he pursued sexual issues scientifically, and in 1913 published the first volume of "Ogura Seizaburo Research Report of the First Sotokai Union." He presided over Japan's first sexuality research group, the Sotokai. Members included Tsubouchi Shoyo, Akutagawa Ryunosuke, Hiratsuka Raicho, and Osugi Sakae. He passed away January 14, 1941, at the age of 60. He was from Fukushima Prefecture. He graduated from Tokyo Imperial University. His other works include "The Explosion of Thought."

明治15年2月28日生まれ。H.エリスの著作に触発され性問題を科学的に追究し,大正2年「相対会第一組合小倉清三郎研究報告」第1集を発行。日本初の性の研究会「相対会」を主宰した。会員に坪内逍遥(しょうよう),芥川竜之介,平塚らいてう,大杉栄らがいた。昭和16年1月14日死去。60歳。福島県出身。東京帝大卒。著作はほかに「思想の爆破」。
