An old town in Ogi County, central Saga Prefecture. The northern half is in the Sefuri Mountains, and the southern half is part of the Saga Plain. The town is a former castle town of the Nabeshima branch feudal domain, and the Karatsu Line runs through it. Brewing is carried out here, and Ogi Yokan is a specialty. Rice is grown on the plains, and mandarin oranges are cultivated at the foot of the mountains. In March 2005, it merged with Mikazuki Town, Ushizu Town, and Ashikari Town in Ogi County to become a city, Ogi City. 45.39 km2 . Population: 17,916 (2003).
