Japanese: 曼陀羅供 - まんだらく

The name of a Buddhist memorial service. It is also written as Mandala Ku. It is abbreviated as Manku. This memorial service is centered on the Kongokai Mandala and the Garbhakai Mandala (Mandala), and is the most spectacular of the memorial services of the Esoteric Buddhism. It is held in Shingon and Tendai sects. A large altar is set up, and the chief priest climbs onto the offering board in front of it to perform a unique ritual for this memorial service. During this time, the priests chant chanting, and in Shingon sects, they recite incantations and sutras in unison.

仏事の法要名。曼荼羅供とも書く。略称は〈曼供（まんく）〉。金剛界曼陀羅･胎蔵界曼陀羅(曼荼羅)を中心とする法要で，密教立（みつきようだて）の法要の中でもっとも華やかなもの。真言系諸宗と天台系諸宗で勤める。大壇（だいだん）を設け，その前の礼盤（らいはん）に導師が登って，この法要独自の修法を行う。職衆（しきしゆう）はその間に声明（しようみよう）を唱えるほか，真言系では声をそろえて呪を誦したり読経を行ったりする。
