Beaker - beaker (English spelling)

Japanese: ビーカー - びーかー(英語表記)beaker
Beaker - beaker (English spelling)

A type of chemical laboratory equipment. A flat-bottomed, cylindrical container with a wide opening and a spout for pouring liquids. It is used to perform operations such as separating liquids, preparing solutions, heating, cooling, stirring, and forming precipitates. There are microbeakers with a capacity of a few milliliters, as well as large beakers with a capacity of over 10 liters, and they are used according to the scale of the experiment. Beakers with a narrow opening compared to their height are called tall beakers, and those with a narrow cylindrical section toward the top are called conical (triangular) beakers. Thin-walled hard glass beakers are generally used, but beakers made of colored glass, quartz glass, porcelain, platinum, enamelware, polyethylene, fluororesin, and other materials are used depending on the purpose. Beakers with volumetric graduations are guide graduations and not graduations for measuring containers.
