A sport in which players play around multiple outdoor playground equipment. Field athletics is a Japanese-English word that combines field (outdoors) and athletics (exercise), and is a registered trademark of the Japan Field Athletics Association (a voluntary organization established in 1973). The method of walking, running and exercising while walking around a course originated in Northern Europe, and in 1968 VITA-Parcours (donated by Vita Life Insurance Company) was established in Zurich, Switzerland.
