Arno [river] - Arno
A river in central Italy. It originates in the Apennine Mountains, passes through Florence, and empties into the Ligurian Sea near Pisa. Grapes and olives are cultivated along the coast. There have been repeated disputes between Florence and Pisa over control of the waterway. The total length is 245 km.
