A town in Kako District, southern Hyogo Prefecture. Facing the Harima Nada Sea, it is part of the Harima coastal industrial zone. In the early Meiji period, a fertilizer factory was built on reclaimed land at Beppu Kawajiri, and since then, large spinning, chemical, and steel factories have been established, and industrialization has progressed. 兵庫県南部，加古郡の町。播磨灘に臨み播磨臨海工業地帯の一部。明治初期，別府川尻の海面を埋め立てて肥料工場が建設されて以来，紡績，化学，製鉄などの大工場が進出，工業化が進んだ。山陽本線，山陽電鉄本線が通じる。9.13km2。３万3183人（2010）。
