Ha Tien (English spelling)

Japanese: ハティエン（英語表記）Ha Tien

A town in the northwestern tip of Kien Giang Province in southern Vietnam. It is a port town on the Gulf of Thailand, about 80 km northwest of the provincial capital of Rak Gia, and is close to the border with Cambodia. It is known as a base for coastal fishing and a honey producing area. It is connected to Rak Gia by coastal roads and canals, and to Chau Doc by a waterway that runs inland along the border.

ベトナム南部，キエンジャン省北西端の町。省都ラクジャの北西約 80km，タイ湾にのぞむ港町で，カンボジアとの国境に近い。沿岸漁業の基地として，また蜂蜜の産地として知られる。海岸沿いの道路，運河でラクジャと結ばれるほか，国境沿いに内陸に延びる水路によりチャウドクと連絡。
