Mourning was held at the Imperial Palace when the Crown Prince, Crown Prince's Grandson, Crown Princess, or other Imperial family member died. The mourning period was set at one year, 150 days, 90 days, 30 days, up to five days, or three days depending on the relationship to the Imperial family. It was abolished in 1947.
