Japanese: 入色人 - にゅうしきにん

In the ancient Japanese Ritsuryo bureaucracy, the term refers to those who were qualified to be employed in various government positions, as well as those who were employed as lower-ranking officials. In the Taiho and Yoro Codes, onshison (official descendants) who were qualified to be employed as Udoneri, Daitonari, Togu no Toneri, and Chugu no Toneri, and ishi (ranking officials) who were qualified to be appointed as Daitonari, Hyoe, and Shibe were also examples of irishikinin. In addition, those who were qualified to become Naoi no Uji (official clan members) and Tonobe (official officers) in various government offices were also irishikinin. For example, those who were qualified to become Tonomori (official officers) in the Shudenryo (Lord's Office), Kamori (official officers) in the Sweeping Office, Mizube (official officers) in the Shusui Office, Sakebe (official officers) in the Sake Brewing Office, and Mononobe (official officers) in the Prison Office and East and West City Offices were called irishikinin.

日本古代の律令官僚制で，それぞれの官職に採用される有資格者，またその下級職員に採用された人をいう。大宝･養老両令条では，内舎人（うどねり）･大舎人･東宮舎人･中宮舎人などに採用される資格をもつ蔭子孫（おんしそん）や，大舎人･兵衛･使部に任用される資格をもつ位子（いし）も，入色人のケースである。そして諸官庁に属する伴部らになりうる負名氏（なおいのうじ）の有資格者も入色人であり，たとえば主殿寮の殿部（とのもり），掃部司の掃部（かにもり），主水司の水部，造酒司の酒部，囚獄司や東･西市司の物部などになりうる有資格者たちが入色人とよばれた。
