Analysis of Japanese capitalism

Japanese: 日本資本主義分析 - にほんしほんしゅぎぶんせき

A book by Yamada Moritaro published by Iwanami Shoten in February 1934. It is a representative work of the "Lecture School" that was compiled from three essays published in "Lectures on the History of the Development of Japanese Capitalism" published in 1932-33. It is not intended to be a simple historical narrative of the development of capitalism, but as the subtitle "Understanding the Reproduction Process in Japanese Capitalism" suggests, it adopts a methodology of applying Marx's theory of reproduction to Japanese capitalism, extracting the military and semi-serf-like form of Japanese capitalism, and clarifying the "inevitability" of class conflict and the outlook for the collapse of capitalism through the decomposition of that form.

1934年2月，岩波書店より刊行された山田盛太郎の著書。1932‐33年に刊行された《日本資本主義発達史講座》に発表の3編の論文をもとにまとめられた〈講座派〉の代表的著作である。単に資本主義発達の歴史叙述を意図したものではなく，副題に〈日本資本主義における再生産過程把握〉とあるように，マルクス再生産論を日本資本主義へ具体化するという方法論をとり，日本資本主義の軍事的半農奴制的な型を析出し，階級対抗の〈必至〉と，型の分解による資本制崩壊の展望を明らかにした。
