A system of linear equations is called a simultaneous linear equation with n unknowns. When ( x1 , ..., xn ) = ( a1 , ..., an ) satisfies all of the linear equations above, then ( a1 , ... , an ) is said to be a solution to ( 1 ). Let's try solving the following simultaneous linear equations. If we make 3 x (I) - 2 x (II), we get - y = -2. Therefore, y = 2. Substituting this into (I), we get x = -3.
