Manpo

A city on the banks of the Yalu River in the northern part of Jagang Province, North Korea. It is the terminus of the Manpo Line. It is connected by rail to Ji'an, China, on the opposite bank. Lumber processing is carried out at a lumberyard that stores Yalu River timber. Local industries such as spinning and daily necessities are also well developed, and there are duck and chicken farms along the Yalu River. There is also the Seogangjeong Pavilion on the banks of the Yalu River, built to commemorate the defeat of the Manchu invasion in 1636.

北朝鮮、慈江道の北部、鴨緑江(おうりょくこう)沿岸に臨む都市。満浦線の終点。対岸の中国、集安とは鉄道で結ばれている。鴨緑江材の貯木場で製材加工が行われている。また紡績、日用品などの地方工業も発達しており、鴨緑江沿岸にはアヒルやニワトリの飼育場もある。また1636年満洲族の侵入を撃破したことを記念して建てた洗剣亭が鴨緑江岸にある。
