After the March 1st Independence Movement (1919), learning from the failure of nonviolent struggle within Korea, the Korean independence movement reorganized into an armed struggle line and spread across the border in China's northeastern region. In particular, in northeastern China, patriots from the Righteous Army struggle at the end of the Korean War were still active, and with the influence of the Siberian Intervention War, the anti-Japanese independence army was able to significantly strengthen its armed forces in a short period of time. The independence army formed a large corps in the Korean-Chinese border area, and by 1920 the long border had become a skirmish line for the independence army, causing the Government-General of Korea to fear invasion and terrorism.

三･一独立運動(1919)以後，朝鮮国内での非暴力闘争の失敗の教訓に学び，武装闘争路線に再編して，国境を接する中国東北地方にまたがって展開された朝鮮独立運動。とりわけ中国東北地方は旧韓末の義兵闘争の志士が活動を継続しており，シベリア干渉戦争の影響もあって，抗日独立軍は短時日のうちに武装力をいちじるしく強化することができた。独立軍は朝･中国境地帯に一大軍団を形成し，1920年になると長大な国境線は独立軍の散兵線となり，朝鮮総督府はその侵襲，テロにおびえた。
