Born December 15, 1899. While attending Waseda University in 1920, he won the javelin at the Far East Olympics. In 1921, his outstanding physique was recognized and he joined Nikkatsu, appearing in films such as "For My Alma Mater." After the war, he served as chairman of the League of Repatriates of Overseas War Victims, and in 1947 he became a member of the House of Councillors (Liberal Party).
