[Born] Wanli 48 (1620)
[Died] 1664, 3rd year of the Kangxi Era. Hangzhou, China. A philosophical figure in the late Ming Dynasty. Born in Jin County (east of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province). His courtesy name was Yuanzhi. His pen name was Cangshui. His posthumous name was Zhonglie. He was a judge in 1642, 15th year of the Chongzhen Era. After the fall of the Ming Dynasty, he supported the King of Lu (Zhu Yihai) in Shaoxing and attempted to restore the Ming Dynasty (45), and was promoted from Jinshi and Hanlin Academy editor to Left Assistant Minister of War. When Shaoxing fell the following year, he fled to Zhoushan, and then supported the King of Lu and sought refuge with Zheng Chenggong, who was based in Kinmen and Amoy (Xiamen). Together they attempted to rise again and capture Nanjing, but failed. He was urged by the Qing to surrender, but he did not accept it and hid in the mountains of Hangzhou, but was captured by the Qing army and executed. His works include the Complete Works of Zhang Cangshui.

中国,明末の志士。きん県 (浙江省寧波東) の人。字は元箸。号は蒼水。諡は忠烈。崇禎 15 (1642) 年の挙人。明の滅亡後,魯王 (朱以海) を紹興に擁立して明の回復をはかり (45) ,進士,翰林院編修から累進して兵部左侍郎となった。翌年紹興が陥落すると舟山に逃れ,さらに魯王を奉じて金門,アモイ (厦門) に拠った鄭成功を頼り,ともに再挙をはかって南京攻略を試みたが失敗。清から降伏をすすめられたが応じず,杭州の山中に隠れていたが,清軍に捕われて処刑された。著作に『張蒼水全集』がある。
