Also known as kinematic tables. A mathematical table used to calculate the position of the Sun, Moon, and planets at any given time by hand. Hipparchus's solar tables are considered to be the oldest. Modern ephemeris tables are made by first calculating the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets using Keplerian motion, and then adding perturbations such as those of other planets.
