Altiur - Altiur

...occupying the center of the grasslands north of the Aral and Caspian Seas, they engaged in active commercial activities, and in the 16th century shipped tens of thousands of horses and sheep to Moscow and Kazan every year. In the second half of the 16th century, after the fall of the Kazan and Astrakhan Khanates, they split into three Hordes: Great Nogai, Lesser Nogai, and Altiur. In 1634, due to the invasion of the Mongolian Kalmyks, they lost the left bank of the Volga River and moved to the right bank, and were subsequently driven southward.
