<br /> Sake made in the area around Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture. In the early Edo period, Yamanaka Shinroku Yukimoto of Konoike Village, Settsu Province (now Konoike, Itami City, Hyogo Prefecture) is said to have established the method of making Morohaku by using ash to clarify the sake, and was the first to successfully carry out the "Edo-tsumi" method of shipping sake from Kamigata to Edo. As a result, Itami sake became famous as a representative high-grade sake in the mid-Edo period. ◇Itami Morohaku is also called "Itami Morohaku". Source: Kodansha Drink Dictionary Information |
