Kabuki dance. Tomimoto-bushi. First performed at Edo Nakamuraza in March 1813 (Bunka 10). This piece is from the April section of the "First Bonito Merchant" in the "Seasonal Poems for the Three Great Characters (Shikinagame Yosete Mitsudai)" series of twelve-month variations danced by Bando Mitsugoro III. Lyrics by Segawa Jyoko II. Music by Tobaya Satonaga II. Choreography by Ichiyama Shichijuro I. An Edokko fishmonger carrying a tray comes out to sell the first bonito of the season and dances energetically. In recent years, it has been moved to Tokiwazu, but there are also some parts that feature shinnai-style elements, and since it is a short piece, it is also performed at dance societies.
