One of the 12 gates in the inner bailey of Heian-kyo. Opposite the outer bailey gate, Kenreimon, this gate faces the south front of Shishinden. It is 5 bays in size, with 3 doors (only the emperor passed through the center), covered with cypress bark (now covered with tiles), and has columns. There are two gates, Choraku and Eian, located 5 bays apart on the east and west sides, and were guarded by the Hyoefu.
