International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy

Japanese: 原子力平和利用国際会議 - げんしりょくへいわりようこくさいかいぎ（英語表記）International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy

An international conference held based on a seven-nation joint resolution on international cooperation in the peaceful uses of atomic energy. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in December 1954. The first conference was held in Geneva in August 1955, bringing together approximately 3,800 people, including atomic physicists, from 73 countries to hold extensive discussions on the peaceful uses of atomic energy. The second conference was held in September 1958, the third in August 1964, and the fourth in September 1971, all in Geneva. Based on the seven-nation joint resolution, the Charter of the International Atomic Energy Agency was signed in October 1956, and the International Atomic Energy Agency was established in July 1957.

原子力平和利用に関する国際協力についての7ヵ国共同決議案に基づいて開かれた国際会議。 1954年 12月の国連総会で採択された。 55年8月ジュネーブでの第1回会議には，73ヵ国から原子物理学者など約 3800人が集り，原子力平和利用についての広範な討論が行われた。 58年9月に第2回会議，64年8月に第3回会議，71年9月に第4回会議がいずれもジュネーブで開かれた。なお，7ヵ国共同決議案に基づいて，56年 10月に国際原子力機関憲章が調印され，57年7月には国際原子力機関が設立された。
