This is the major work of D. Ricardo, the perfector of classical economics. Published in 1817. The first edition (750 copies) is composed of 30 chapters, which is not divided into parts or volumes, and at first glance it may seem cluttered, but it can be considered to be composed of three parts: Chapters 1 to 7 on the Principles of Political Economy, Chapters 8 to 18 and 22, 23, and 29 on Taxation, and the remaining part on Supplements or Disputes. Part 1, which forms the backbone of Ricardo's theory, attempts to consistently explain the theory of value that A. Smith left in the dualism of input labor theory and command labor theory with input labor theory. His theory of differential rent, macroscopic dynamic theory that discusses the long-term macroscopic distribution relationship between the three classes of landlords, capitalists, and workers, focusing on the problem of the declining trend of the rate of profit, and the theory of comparative production costs in international trade also had a great influence on economics thereafter.
