A town in Kasuya County in the mid-west of Fukuoka Prefecture. It is located on the alluvial plain of the Tatara River bordering Fukuoka City, and has developed as a suburban farming village, with the Sasaguri and Kashii lines intersecting it. Rice, vegetable and flower cultivation are thriving, and in recent years the number of houses and factories has increased as it has become a satellite city of Fukuoka City. 14.13 km2 .
