The Japanese name for Quakers, also known as the Friends. In December 1885, the missionaries J. Cosand and his wife arrived in Japan, and in 1886 they began education and evangelism. In 1889 they founded the Japan Peace Association, and in 1892 they published the magazine Heiwa.
