This hot spring is located in Tazawako Town, Senboku District, in eastern Akita Prefecture. It is accessible by bus from Tazawako Station on the Tazawako Line. This old hot spring resort, known as Kame-no-yu until the mid-Meiji period, is located at the very back of the Nyuto Onsen Village at the western foot of Mount Nyuto (1,478m). The spring quality is a simple hydrogen sulfide spring, with a temperature of 78°C. As there is a large amount of water, you can enjoy a "cascading bath" from the hot waterfall and an open-air bath. The water for the nearby Tazawako Kogen Onsen is drawn from here. [Tanizawa Akira] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
