Oda Manor - Orita no Sho

Japanese: 織田荘 - おりたのしょう
Oda Manor - Orita no Sho
This manor was part of the Shoren-in temple's estate, which was located in the eastern part of Mikata County, Wakasa Province. It is believed to be located in the current areas of Kitada, Sada, Ota, and Yamagami in Mihama Town, Fukui Prefecture. In 1213, the former head priest of the Tendai dynasty, Jien, transferred this land to Prince Tomohito (Doukaku Hoshinno), and it appears to have been included in the estate of Joju-in (present-day Sakyo Ward, Kyoto City) as "Oda Manor and Sansho in the same ura." According to the distribution document for Jien's estate from the same year, it was originally semi-non-transportable land, but became an entire manor by imperial decree. At the time, the land was allocated to over 300 koku, of which over 124 koku was used for Buddhist purposes at the main hall of Shoren-in, Shijoko-do. In the 1234 order for the possession of Jogen's land, it was written that the land belonged to Jojuin Temple, and that it was "given a fixed stipend of 600 koku and used for miscellaneous matters." In the late Kamakura period, the Koremune clan was the Geshi (lower official).
