Christian Democratic World Union

...It is an organization made up of people who share some common social and political views, which gathers together the interests of the people based on these social and political views, formulates policies, and then takes on the role of parliament in order to realize those policies, and is in charge of government or aims to be in charge of government. The classic definition of a political party is that of E. Burke, who states that "a political party is an organization of people who, by their common efforts, have joined together to promote the national interest, based on certain principles on which they all agree." However, from a modern perspective, this definition is insufficient in that it does not specifically mention the functions of political parties.
